Alex Signs With Hesston
Hesston College volleyball coach Jessica Cleveland announced Alex Hiebert, a 5’10” middle hitter from Goessel (Kan.) High School, as the newest addition to the Larks’ program.
A four-year volleyball and basketball player in high school, Hiebert was an all-league and honorable mention all-state athlete in 2012. She was a key part of Goessel Volleyball’s Wheat State League Championships the past three seasons.
“We’re excited to add Alex to our roster,” Cleveland said. “She has tremendous qualities that will be valuable to the direction of our team. She’s a fast learner and extremely coachable which will allow her a lot of growth. I am looking forward to seeing her succeed with her commitment and passion.”
An honor roll student throughout her time at Goessel High, Hiebert will study education at Hesston. She attends Buhler (Kan.) Mennonite Brethren Church.
Hiebert is the daughter of Mike and Lucinda Hiebert, Goessel. Her older sister, Kory, starred for the 2007-08 Hesston Volleyball teams.
In volleyball, Hesston College competes in Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Located 30 miles north of Wichita, Hesston College is the two-year liberal arts college of Mennonite Church USA.
